Want to be a Death Doula Workshop November 7
So You Want to Be a Death Doula? | In-Person Workshop
Every family will face the death of someone they love, yet few people feel prepared to help when that time comes. Death doulas are changing that by providing compassionate, non-medical support that helps individuals and families navigate the end-of-life journey with greater understanding and confidence.
This interactive workshop offers an inside look at one of today’s fastest-growing helping professions. You’ll discover how death doulas support people before, during, and after death, how they partner with hospice and other care providers, and why this work is becoming an important part of end-of-life care across the country.
Throughout the morning, we’ll discuss the realities of the dying process, the emotional and practical needs of families, and the skills that allow doulas to provide calm, steady guidance during life’s most difficult moments. You’ll also learn about education and training opportunities, ask questions, and connect with others who share an interest in compassionate care.
Whether you’re considering a new career, hoping to become a better caregiver, or simply want to deepen your understanding of end-of-life care, this workshop provides a welcoming place to explore what’s possible.
Join us Saturday, November 7, from 9:00 AM to Noon at Death Doula Professionals in Albuquerque for a thoughtful, engaging introduction to the role of a death doula. No previous experience is necessary.
Please note: This workshop is not a certification or formal training program. It is a heart-centered introductory experience offered by two practicing death doulas who deeply wished a gathering like this had existed when they first felt the calling to this work. It is offered as a welcoming first step, a place to explore, ask questions, and gently discern whether the path of death doula work is right for you.
